Over 200 people attended the Center for Youth Evangelism’s annual Children’s Leadership Conference on October 12-13, 2018 on the campus of Andrews University. The conference’s theme was “Domino Effect – Empowering Children to Reach Children”.  Additionally, in preparation for the 2019 Chosen International Camporee, the conference offered a number of Pathfinder Leadership tracks. A dynamic team of inspiring presenters from the NAD and Lake Union provided the free NAD Certification in the following Children’s Ministries courses:

  • Child Evangelism
  • Creative Arts
  • How to Reach Children
  • Adventurer Basic Staff Training
  • Pathfinder Basic Staff Training
  • Pathfinder Leadership Award
  • Master Guide Leadership Skills

 

Conference Presenters:


Trina Ware has worked in children’s ministries for the past 19 years and is currently serving as the Children’s Ministries Director for the South Central Conference. She has published two articles in Kid’s Ministry Idea magazine, contributed to the Castle & Crowns and Investigation Stations VBS programs produced by AdventSource, designed religious die-cuts for Accucut, and served as the Children’s Ministries Director at Riverside SDA Church in Nashville, TN. She and her husband Marc have been blessed with four children, Kayla, Andrew, Alyssa, and Kristopher.


Don MacLafferty is a disciple of Jesus Christ, a husband of 30 years to his wife April, a dad and life mentor to their three children, and president of In Discipleship. In 2002, Don founded “Kids In Discipleship,” which has partnered with all thirteen world divisions of the Adventist Church to equip parents to disciple the next generation for Christ.

Don is passionate about trusting, following, and sharing Jesus; and leading both young and old to live their God-given dreams. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, nature, cooking, world travel, and seeking Divine Appointments.


Francini Reis grew up in Brazil and has been an educator since 1997. She has a B.A. in Math & Science Education, a M.A. in Education, and is certifies in Montessori and Music Education for children. She and her husband homeschool their daughters, Pamela, Chloe, and McKayla. They enjoy spending time together as a family and working in Children’s Ministries.


Robin Galon has been working in Children’s Ministry for many years. Her paternal grandparents raised her in Brazil. Since childhood she has been involved in Children’s Ministry, which includes Sabbath School, youth leadership, and music. Her passions are Music Ministry with children and teach them how powerful songs can be in our lives. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband and 2 children. Robin also enjoys writing and presenting for the North-American Division Children’s Ministry and creating different activities/opportunities for children to learn how special they are, and how much God loves His masterpieces. She holds college degrees in Journalism and Marketing and a master’s Degree in International Management from the University of Maryland. Robin is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.


Pamela Daly is presently serving as the Children’s Ministry Director for the Lake Region Conference.

She began working in children’s ministry when her children were small and desired for them to have a kid friendly worship service which led to her developing a Children’s Church program in her local church. She further took her love for ministry and worked in several evangelistic campaigns, while ministering to children with Child Evangelism Children’s Programs. The latest was the Breath of Life Crusade last year in Chicago, IL. Her desire is for all children to have a wonderful love for God and worship.

She enjoys serving for the Lord by helping leaders become equipped with leadership trainings, VBS, Sabbath School, and Children’s Church. She has a passion and love for children and wants all children to come to know Jesus as their personal friend and loving Savior regardless of their socio-economic status.


Justo and Rosa Morales have had a long career in Children’s Ministries. Justo has worked as a pastor, Conference President, Education’s Superintendent in Peruvian Union, University Professor, and currently works as Associate Ministerial and Hispanic Ministries Director in the Illinois Conference. He graduated as a theologian, Master of Theology, Master of Education, Doctor of Ministry studies. He has training experience in Children’s Ministry. For the last 20 years has training experience in Children’s Ministry and for the past eight years has developed to support the Children’s Ministry Leadership Certification, as a NAD trainer.

Rosa is a primary school teacher. Today, she is the Bilingual Literacy Coach in Naperville School District of Illinois. Along with her profession she has three master degrees in Education Area and Parenting Educator. She worked with her husband on different responsibilities in the church. She has over 20 years working as Coordinator of Children’s Ministries and the Women Ministry. She is currently the Coordinator of the Women Ministry, Children’s Ministry and Adventurers to the Illinois Conference. For the last 20 years, she has had experience in Children’s Ministry and for the past eight years has further supported the Children’s Ministry Leadership by helping the NAD to train others in how to reach children effectively for God.
