Dear Children's Ministry Leader,
What's in your shoe closet? I came across a survey recently. It said that the average American owns 19 pairs of shoes. Nineteen pairs! Of course, I doubt all nineteen pairs would be the same kind-say athletic shoes for example. One pair might be running shoes. Another pair might be sandals. Another pair might be dressy shoes. And yet another pair might be snow boots. Different shoes for different tasks and purposes. Different, yet each important.
The body of Christ is made up of different people. Different children. Different, yet each one so very important. In 1 Corinthians chapter 12, we read about the importance of diversity in the body of Christ. We would be very ineffective if we were all hands and no feet. God in His wisdom created us different. Different talents, different styles of worship, different spiritual gifts, different service calls. Different, but individually unique. Different, but from the same Spirit. “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Cor 12:7 ESV)
It can be challenging to unite all these differences in working together for the common good. Our theme for this years Children's Leadership Conference is : "All God's Children Got Shoes". We have a team of amazing presenters lined up to help empower leaders to embrace these differences in their children’s ministry. For whether you’re a pair of soccer cleats, galoshes, or espadrilles, there’s a place for you in God’s church.
We look forward to seeing you at this years Children's Leadership Conference.
In His Service,Shawna Henry
